How will my business benefit from joining the Barking & Dagenham Chamber of Commerce?

You will receive the Barking & Dagenham Business Directory with over 1700 business contacts. A great way to start contacting potential new customers. In addition the Barking & Dagenham Membership Directory is supplied listing your fellow Chamber members

We also supply window stickers and a special logo that you are able to print on your stationary. Essential requirement when trading with some countries

You will also have the opportunity to present a 350 word article, for publication in  NewsletterPlus, our own Chamber `Glossy Mag ` which is circulated to over 1700 business organisations and distributed to Barclays Bank business customers.

The Chamber currently has a great on line presence. Lots of opportunities and special member benefits.

We have the networking facilities, the contacts, the information and seminars, YOU have to make sure you maximise on your investment to ensure YOU benefit from joining the Chamber of Barking & Dagenham.

Who are the type of businesses involved?

The businesses involved are very diverse from manufacturing to leisure and hospitality, communications, training and professional services, there are no set boundaries. The Chamber in Barking and Dagenham gives you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers of the company, the key players in helping your business succeed, if they are not the direct contact you require they may have the contact you need…

If I am not based in the Barking area can I still be a member?

Yes you can although our catchments area is Barking and Dagenham we have members within close proximity and further a field there are no restrictions. We are here to make the area a business networking community, thriving off one another and being able to use products and services closer to home.

Are you controlled by the Local Authority?

No! We work closely and in partnership with the Local Council - the council looks for us to provide information from local businesses on how to improve the profitability of Barking & Dagenham, what changes we need to make and where if possible make recommendations on the local businesses behalf voicing your problems, opinions and queries.

How often do you hold Events?
Every 6 – 8 weeks we always have events for you, topics of interest and great opportunities to maximise your awareness. On a weekly basis we advertise our events and our member’s events, SO YOU WON’T MISS OUT!!

How many companies usually attend these events?
The numbers vary but we have a great following and the turnover of new members is ever increasing the last event saw over 80 diverse Business organisations attend, the event in November over 100 business organisations attended so there are definitely reasons to get involved.

Who qualifies as “private” members?
Someone who wishes to be informed of events, local information and developments, this person can represent themselves at events but are unable to advertise any products services or their company, this membership is information based only.

The rates of membership, how do they compare?
The membership rates are dependant of the size of the company, so the numbers of employees relate to the annual turnover of the company and the amount of representatives a company can therefore have on the system to be kept updated of all information and seminars and networking opportunities.

How do I join?

Or a cheque can be made out to the Barking & Dagenham Chamber of Commerce for membership and sent via the post to 1st Floor, Roycroft House, 15 Linton Road, Barking, Essex IG11 8HE.

So if you are paying by cheque send in your membership application form with all your company details and an invoice will be sent to the address you provided.
